Professor of Spanish Lois Barr publishes short story, poems

Prof. Barr was one of twelve winners for the Poetry That Moves Contest for her piece, in Spanish and English, “Cézanne’s Beets/Las remolachas de Cézanne.” It will be on posters in Metra buses in the North Shore May. Her short story, “Transit City Authority of River City,” appears in the Winter 2014 issue of The Examined Life Journal of the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.  Available only in print. In addition, a memoir, “Maggie’s Pearls,” appears in the “Short Take” section of The Persimmon Tree Literary Magazine, and two additional poems, “This and That” and “Charms,” appear in issue number 16 of the Journal of Modern Poetry.
