Video highlights Foresters’ summertime service work in Africa

This summer, Lecturer in Music Helen Bond and Projects for Peace grant winners Matt Cunliffe ’13 and Jesus Ayala ’14 helped to install a biosand water filter in Guinea, West Africa to provide clean water to the community.Projects for Peace

The project, Benkadi Project Senuyaa Initiative, is one of many undertakings Bond and her 501c3 Non-Profit, Motherland Rhythm Community’s Benkadi Project, have completed in the region over the past 10 years.

Cunliffe and Ayala participated as recipients of the Davis Foundation’s Projects for Peace grant, which funded 60 percent of the project. While Cunliffe traveled to West Guinea with Bond, Ayala coordinated efforts from home, including compiling training materials.
