Videos show Foresters’ support for cancer awareness

New videos capture the liveliness of two annual events that took place the week of April 15: Ry’s Run, sponsored by Athletics, and Relay For Life. Both raised money for the American Cancer Society, which supports research, patient services, early detection, treatment, and education.

Relay For Life took place over night beginning Friday, April 19 and ending the morning of Saturday, April 20. Foresters and community members stayed up all night to walk laps around the ice rink and engage in event activities, all to raise money and awareness for cancer research. Ry’s Run is an annual event organized by Athletics that honors former women’s hockey goaltender Ryann McCarthy, who died of cancer in 2009. This year, 168 runners, including students, faculty, and staff, participated in the color run. Video by Ethan Guenther ’14
