Occupy! Scenes from a Movement is a newly created play based on the occupation of Zuccotti Park in the fall of 2011. A series of monologues, dialogues and testimony, the play seeks to explore what the Occupy Movement was, what it became, and where it is now. How does political action take place today? How do you lead a movement that by its nature is against leaders? Where were the short terms goals of the Occupy Movement and what are the long-term effects of it? Most of all, who WERE the young people who made it happen and how did they accomplish what they accomplished in such a short time? Through interviews and research, Lake Forest College students have worked with director and writer Richard Corley to create this exciting new piece of theatre.
