Food Waste Project Yields Reduction

Results of the two-day food waste measuring by ARAMARK in the Caf are impressive!

Last Thursday, breakfast and lunch waste combined totaled over 400 pounds. By the next day, awareness of the project and publicity amongst students, faculty and staff in the Caf reduced the waste in half, even though approximately the same number of meals were consumed. Some of the waste was displayed on Thursday outside of the Mohr Center.

This was a joint effort by the Ethics Center, ARAMARK and LEAP. We are grateful to all who consciously reduced their own garbage by choosing to not waste as much food on Friday. Congratulations!
