Lake Forest Lyrica announces nineteenth season lineup

The highly acclaimed Lake Forest Lyrica will begin its nineteenth season with Glorian Duo on Sunday, September 23 at 3:00 p.m. in the Lily Reid Holt Memorial Chapel.

Founded in 1986 by Wendy Kerner, harpist and Donna Milanovich, flutist, the Glorian Duo has performed throughout the U.S. including appearances at the Ravinia Festival, the Phillips Collection in Washington, Duquesne University, North Carolina School of the Arts, Music in the Park Series in Minnesota, Quad City Arts Program, and educational programs sponsored by the National Symphony.

The Duo has received awards from the National Flute Association and Artists International, and grants from Chamber Music America, The Mary Duke Biddle Foundation and the Bronx Council on the Arts. They had their New York debut at Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall to a sold-out crowd. Their CD, Sounds of the Seine, was released by Delos International, to critical acclaim.

The Fifth House Ensemble will take the stage as the second performance of the Lyrica season on December 9, performing exotic music from America and abroad, followed by the Great Lakes Ensemble on February 10. They will perform music by Honegger, Faure, and Messiaen called “French Connection: from Romanticism to Modernism.” Chicago Chamber Musicians will close the Lyrica season with an afternoon of Debussy and Beethoven on March 24.

All concerts are held in the Lily Reid Holt Memorial Chapel on the campus of Lake Forest College.

Single tickets for all concerts are $15/$5 for students with ID, free to Lake Forest College faculty, staff, and students. A subscription to all four concerts is $50. For more information and to order tickets, please call 847-735-6170.
