Consul General of France and Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany visit Lake Forest College
Tuesday, February 28, the Department of Modern Languages & Literatures and the International Relations Program hosted both Consul General of France Graham Paul, and Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany Onno Hückmann, for a very well-attended presentation on “Trans-Atlantic Relations.” While Consul General Paul focused on the long-standing importance of European-U.S. trade relations, Consul General Hückmann addressed the eurozone crisis. Current French-German rapprochement was evidenced by the consuls’ complementary stances on the need for EU member solidarity and continued strong ties with the U.S. Engaging discussion with Lake Forest College students and faculty ensued.
