Intercultural Life at Lake Forest College

January 19, 2012

Welcome to the Intercultural Life Blog!

The staff of the Office of Intercultural Relations (OIR) would like to welcome you to our weekly blog! We are excited about this new venture and hope that this blog will be a catalyst for new and interesting conversations for our college community and for visitors to our site.

The mission of OIR is to promote intercultural dialogue, understanding, and respect among the many cultural identities represented within our diverse community. It is our hope that this blog will provide an additional opportunity for members of our community – students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members – to share their insights, observations, and experiences related to cultural diversity.  We hope this blog will provide a platform to both learn and teach, to share and listen, and will help all of us truly understand the experience of our fellow Foresters as we work to embrace the rich cultural diversity of our community.

In the coming weeks, you will read blog posts from:

  • Kenny Clady-Mason, Class of 2012
  • Teryn Robinson, Assistant Dean of Faculty for Learning Support
  • Monisha Dillard, Class of 2012
  • Dr. Bill Divane, Sr. Associate Dean of Students; Director of Health & Wellness

If you are interested in sharing your story, observations, or insights, please contact Erin Hoffman at hoffman@lakeforest.edu.  We would love to have you participate as one of our guest bloggers!

Thanks for joining us on this journey toward intercultural learning and exploration! Check back every Thursday this semester for a new post from a member of our community.
