First-year students in the BIOL130 Deadly Shapes, Hostage Brains class hosted third graders from Lake Forest Country Day School for the Amazing Brain community outreach program on December 18, 2019. This group- and class-led collaboration serves as a non-traditional final exam that teaches students to engage in active learning approaches that underlie how the brain senses the world, integrates that information, and, ultimately, carries out actions. Over the past 12 years, the College has served more than 500 local schoolchildren through this program.
Late Night Breakfast is a Lake Forest College finals week tradition that brings together students who are preparing for final exams and faculty and staff to serve them a well-earned meal before a night of studying.
Students picked up some new tips for how to handle the stress associated with finals during programs sponsored by the Health and Wellness Center last week. The Donnelley and Lee Library was a popular study spot Friday as students hunkered down to finish projects and study.
