August 22, 2014 CDT
Move-in for new students is on Friday, August 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. CDT. When you arrive on campus, please go directly to the residence hall where you will be living. Public Safety and other staff will be placed throughout campus to direct traffic and help you get to where you need to be. Tables will be set up outside each residence hall, where our Resident Assistants and other Residence Life staff will greet you and walk you through the check-in process. You’ll be handed a key at that time so make sure to have a key chain handy so you don’t lose it!
Volunteers will be available to help you unload your car and carry belongings to your room.
After you’ve unloaded, Public Safety and staff can direct you to parking where your family or guests can leave their car until they are ready to depart.
Don’t forget to check the weather for move-in day as we get closer so you can dress comfortably!
Meal Plan Changes
Second guessing your meal plan choice? No worries – there’s still time to change it! Complete this form by August 14, 2014 to update your meal plan:
Please note that after August 14, students are unable to change their meal plans for the remainder of the semester. The next opportunity to change meal plans will be in December/January for the spring semester.
BedLofts, Futons, and MicroFridges
If you have ordered a bed loft, futon, or MicroFridge from BedLoft.com, those items will be waiting in your room when you arrive. As a reminder, it is your responsibility to assemble the loft or futon. Instructions will be left with the item in the room and additional copies will be available at the check-in tables.
It’s not too late to order and still have in-room delivery. Head to bedloft.com to place your order before August 5! Orders placed after August 5 will be available for on-site pick-up, but won’t be delivered to your room.
At move-in, you’ll receive a folder with your orientation materials and a printed schedule of the week’s events. After you get settled in your room, be sure to check out Friday’s events including the One Stop Shop, Bank Fair, various Open Houses, and barbeque lunch on the Quad. Please encourage your parents to attend the special parent sessions starting at 1:15pm. While they are in workshops, stop by the bookstore to get your books, check your campus mailbox and have your ID photo taken. And then join back up for the President’s Welcome Picnic. After dinner, you’ll head back to your residence hall for your first hall meeting and then head over together to the evening activities including Playfair, the official new student photo and an ice-cream social.
