Mail Forwarding
Lake Forest College Change of address form
Lake Forest College Mail Services will forward First-Class mail for any member of the campus community
leaving temporarily or permanently. It is the responsibility of the departing student or faculty
member to fill out a LFC change of address form with Mail Services. Postal Service change of
address request forms are available from Mail Services but will not automatically forward your
mail should you leave the college. Be sure to include the effective date of the change on all
notification forms. Your complete new address should include any directional (north, east, south,
west); the correct suffix (ST, AVE, RD, etc.); apartment number, rural route number, box
number; and correct ZIP Code or ZIP+4 code (if known).
All Express Mail, Priority Mail, and First-Class Mail such as cards and letters are forwarded for
five years from the date of the last update to your records. There is no charge for this service.
You must notify correspondents, magazines, catalogs, music clubs, etc., of your new address.
Magazines and catalogs are usually mailed Periodical-Class or Standard Mail and will not be
forwarded or retained. Because of the nature of our forwarding mail program, only properly
address mail can be forwarded.
Only the post office accepts forwarded mail. Anything received via FedEx, UPS, Airborne
Express, DHL, RPS, Emery, or any other non-postal services carrier can not be forwarded!!!
All accountable items received for persons no longer on campus will be returned to sender
without exceptions!!!
