Career Advancement Center > Faculty

As faculty, you are key allies at the College and the Career Advancement Center programs are designed to compliment your efforts.  Here are some ways we benefit you, your department, and students.

Helping to build stronger departments

The services provided by the Career Advancement Center show students the diversity of academic and professional opportunities open to them by becoming a major in your department.  Once students have decided on a major, the Career Advancement Center is available to assist them in exploring career paths within their field of study.

Assisting in all stages of the advisory process

We help students explore their interests, choose a major, obtain an internship, and apply to graduate school. The Career Advancement Center is able to supplement your efforts with our extensive body of specialized resources and experienced staff.

Making use of outside resources

We are eager to work with you to develop customized programs and can provide valuable assistance in the organization of career events, small panel discussions, and guest lectures.  We also have records on over 500 alumni interested in helping current students. 
 
Referring Students

If students come to you with career concerns, please tell them about our services!  Our office hours are 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Student can call (847) 735-5235 to schedule an appointment with a career advisor, and peer advisors are also available to assist students on a drop-in basis.
