Registration > Transfers > Step III: Complete Registration Form
A registration form was included in the materials mailed to you. Use this form to register for fall courses. Complete the top of the form with your name, ID#, and intended major, if known. View a sample completed registration form here.
Again, a full-time load is normally four course credits per semester. Some courses require both a lecture and a laboratory registration. If you select a course with a lab, the lab must also be listed on the registration form, but does not count for additional credit.
Applied music courses have a slightly different credit structure. Please see the earlier “Music Ensembles and Lessons” section for more information.
Physical Education courses do not count for academic credit. A physical education class (if desired) should be listed on the registration form in addition to four credit courses.
Courses are scheduled on a weekly slot system that is charted on the back page of the Class Schedules booklet. To avoid time conflicts, it may be useful to plot your weekly schedule by slot before completing the registration form. Do not register for courses in the same slot unless the classes do not meet for the full-designated slots (for instance, courses in the F slot may only meet on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays, and laboratories usually meet only once a week). The schedule lists
the days (R=Thursday), times, rooms and instructors.
Choose four courses (four credits) for the fall semester. Write department, course number, and course times in the place noted on the registration form.
Choose three alternate courses to be used if any of your preferred courses are not available. List your alternate courses in order of preference. Remember that courses with the same course number in a given department are separate sections of the same course.
List four courses for your tentative spring schedule on the registration form. You will be given an opportunity to finalize your spring schedule with your advisor during fall orientation.
