find a database that indexes a particular journal?

When viewing an article in a database, unless the Internet address ends with ".pdf" you can assume the link is temporary. Most databases will have a button that generates a permanent URL. LexisNexis does not.

Sometimes exporting the LexisNexis article to RefWorks will generated a Find It button link to the article, but not always.

To manually create a link to a LexisNexis article:

  1. Go to this LexisNexis Academic Subscriber Tool page.
  2. Follow the directions to generate the link to the LexisNexis article.
  3. If the link needs to be accessed off campus, add this prefix to the URL:
    http://cacheproxy.lfc.edu:2048/login?url=
For example, here is a link to a Newsweek article:
http://cacheproxy.lfc.edu:2048/login?url=http://www.lexisnexis.com /hottopics/lnacademic/?verb=sr&csi=5774&sr=BYLINE(brown)+ AND+HLEAD(holy+smoke)+AND+DATE+IS+April+9+2012
