Archives and Special Collections
Memorabilia, including Scrapbooks, etc.
The biggest collections of College memorabilia are found in scrapbooks, from the 1890s to the 1960s. These also include many of the college’s most essential photographs, often reproduced in books and periodicals of the last two decades. But most notable on opening one of these, especially those of women, are the separate dance programs, invitations, personal notes and note papers, etc.
Some key student scrapbooks are:
1. Alexander Candee x’93 (Range 8, Section 4, Shelf 1)
2. Erma Bockhoff (Mrs. H. Hunt) ‘15 (Range 8, Sect. 4, Shelf 1)
3. Dorothy Cooper (Mrs. Whiting) ‘17 (Rge. 8, Sect. 4, Sh. 1)
4. Margaret Horton (Mrs. E. F. Montgomery) ‘19 (Rge 8, Sct. 4, Sh. 1)
The Archives holds only a small collection of additional memorabilia—physical items or realia such as a letter sweater from the 1930s, a banner from 1893, some buttons for Homecoming, etc., and various items within alumni scrapbooks, compiled while attending the College.
