Home Ice Advantage Campaign
The current economic environment, which continues to be challenging at best, has forced Lake Forest College to re-evaluate the Home Ice Advantage Campaign and lower the original fundraising expectations. It is important to note, however, that the reasoning behind this effort to begin with—to secure the future of Forester Hockey and our campus ice rink for the next twenty years—remains unchanged.
With this in mind, the College will continue raising funds for this project via this web-site, as well as through individual approaches to alumni and friends, while at the same time beginning to improve areas of the rink that need attention in the near-term. This work will be done step-by-step, over successive summers, based on dollars in hand. In the summer of 2010, new dasher boards and glass were installed and the rink’s exterior was painted to match the new Sports and Fitness Center. Next summer, 2011, our goal is to get a new roof and the summer after to replace the existing pipes, floor and ice-making equipment.
In order to achieve the remaining goals mentioned above, more funds are necessary. We hope that you will help ensure the future of Forester Hockey, and the College’s ice rink, by making a gift today!
You can now make your gift online.
Each contributor’s name will appear on the on-line donor list. Donors at the $500 level and above will receive a specially made Foresters Home Ice Advantage hockey puck and have their name listed on the donor board at completion of the proposed renovations.
