Family Weekend

Family Weekend is an opportunity for families of Lake Forest College students to come and get a taste of what your student is experiencing at Lake Forest. There will be parent seminars, open houses, athletic competitions, and entertainment. Attend a class. Eat lunch with students in the dining hall. Enjoy the beauty of campus. Best of all, the weekend is FREE for students and their families! 

Family Weekend is February 17–18, 2017

Thursday, February 16

5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Lake Forest College Night at the Art Institute of Chicago
Lake Forest College students, friends and family are invited to come in early to enjoy free admission to the Museum and all special exhibits.

Friday, February 17

Experience the Classroom- checking with faculty
Join your student for class on Friday. A schedule of classes open to visitors will be posted as Family Weekend approaches. Sign up at the Registration and Welcome Center!

Featuring former Student body president Devin Tyler
Location: Pierson Rooms, Mohr Student Center.

Visit the Sonnenschein Art Gallery
The Ese’ Eja People of the Amazon: Connected by a Thread. Show consists of photographs and artifacts that focus on this group of people who are among the last remaining foraging Amazonian cultures. They are disappearing due to an increase in mining and logging in and near their communities. Collaboration between the Art/Art History Department and SOAN. Funded in part by the Mojekwu Fund for Intercultural Understanding
Location: Sonnenschein Gallery, Durand Art Institute
