Lake Forest Drops 6-3 Decision to Beloit
Team wins at three of six singles spots

Lake Forest, Ill. - The Forester women’s tennis team fell 6-3 at home to Beloit College on Wednesday (September 20). Lake Forest is now 3-2 on the season while the Buccaneers raised their record to 5-2.

Beloit claimed all three of the doubles matches to start the contest.

The teams split the six singles matches, with the Buccaneers winning at numbers one, two, and five. Senior Anastasia Rudkovskaya (Arlington Heights, Ill./Buffalo Grove) claimed a 6-2, 6-3 victory at number three, classmate Kendall Wapotish (McHenry, Ill./McHenry) prevailed 6-3, 6-2 at number four, and freshman Anna Mahar (St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park) triumphed 7-5, 6-1 at number six.

Select Foresters will compete in this weekend’s Wilson/ITA Regional Championships this weekend (September 22-24) in Decorah, Iowa. The team’s next dual match will be the following Thursday (September 28) at home against Cornell College at 3:00 p.m.
