Foresters Blank Mount Mary for Fourth Straight Win
Team does not lose a game at top three singles positions

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Lake Forest College women's tennis team extended its winning streak to four matches with a 9-0 victory over visiting Mount Mary College on Saturday (September 12). The Foresters are now 4-1 on the year while the Blue Angels fell to 1-4.

Freshman Melika Celebic (Visoko, Bosnia Herzegovina/United World College) and sophomores Nonie Carson (Littleton, Colo./Littleton) and Allison Hamel (Bend, Ore./Bend) did not lose a game in the match. Celebic and Carson blanked their opponents 8-0 at #1 doubles and the three players posted 6-0, 6-0 victories at #1, #2, and #3 singles, respectively.

Lake Forest won each of the other two doubles matches 8-2. Senior Molly Stapleton (St. Louis Park, Minn./Saint Louis Park) and junior Natalie Atroshenko (Wheeling, Ill./Buffalo Grove) played at #2 and senior Viri Del Bosque (Rockford, Ill./Guilford) partnered with freshman Katelin McRaith (Savage, Minn./Minnehaha Academy) at #3. It was McRaith's first appearance in the Forester lineup.

Junior Lauren Stroner (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) and sophomore Sara Bennett (Sioux City, Iowa/Sioux City North) prevailed 6-1, 6-1 at #4 and #5 singles, respectively, and junior Michelle Stroner (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) poasted a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at #6.

The Foresters will look for their fifth consecutive victory and first away from home this season when they travel to Wisconsin Lutheran College next Saturday (September 19). The match will begin at 2:00 p.m.
