Foresters Finish as MWC's Runner-Up
Irons grabs both a singles and doubles title 

MADISON, WI - The Lake Forest College women's tennis team finished as the Midwest Conference's runner-up after falling to Beloit College, 5-1, in the championship match on Friday (October 13th) in Rockford, IL. The Foresters, who won the team title in 1999, beat Carroll College (WI), 5-0, in the semifinals to advance to the final match. 

On Saturday (October 14th) in Madison, WI, Jamie Irons (Neenah, WI/Neenah), who picked up Lake Forest's only win against Beloit, won her second straight conference title at No. 5 singles. Jackie Pieczkiewicz (Grayslake, IL/Grayslake Community) at No. 6 also won a singles title. Sarah Roberts (Plainfield, IL/Lyons Township) advanced to the final match in the No. 4 singles bracket before falling, 6-3, 6-1.

Irons teamed-up with Shannon Sobieski (Fox Point, WI/Nicolet) at No. 2 doubles on Sunday (October 15th) to win another league title. 

The Foresters concluded the 2000 season with a 10-3 dual match record.
