Lake Forest College Women's Tennis
The 2008 season will be Chris Pier's fourth as head coach of the Foresters and her 12th year (1996-present) with the program. She was also the team's head coach from 1996 to 1998 and the assistant coach each of the last nine years. Pier helped Lake Forest capture the program's first-ever Midwest Conference title in 1999 and the team won a program-best 13 matches (against just three losses) that season. In 2003, the Foresters prevailed in a pair of grueling 5-4 MWC Tournament matches to win their second league championship. The team is 100-73-2 overall and 27-6 in MWC play during her 12 seasons with the program. Pier arrived at Lake Forest in 1995 with seven years of coaching experience in the Midwest Conference as an assistant softball and basketball coach at Lawrence University. Pier received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from St. Norbert College in 1987. She was an All-Conference performer in both softball and basketball and participated in eight conference tournaments during her collegiate career. Pier is a member of both the St. Norbert College and St. Mary Central (WI) High School Halls of Fame. Pier was also the head coach of the Lake Forest College softball team in 1996 and an assiatant with the program from 1997 to 2004. In addition, she has served as an administrative assistant for the entire Forester Athletic Department since joining the staff in 1995.
