Foresters Shut Out Visiting Lawrence University 4-0
Lisa Sorenson scores twice, Bri Schleibinger records first shutout

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Lake Forest College women's soccer team hosted and defeated Lawrence University 4-0 on Sunday (September 27). The Foresters are now 5-4-0 overall this season and 2-1-0 in Midwest Conference play. The Vikings fell to 5-3-0 overall and 0-2-0 in the league.

Lake Forest took the lead with a pair of goals early in the contest. Sophomore Caroline Stearns (Bexley, Ohio/Bexley) netted her first score of the season at 6:44 and freshman Lisa Sorenson (Muskegon, Mich./Western Michigan Christian) kicked in her sixth of the year just 61 seconds later. Freshman Becky Esrock (St. Louis, Mo./Whitfield School) assisted on Sorenson's goal and then scored one of her own at 28:58. Sophomore Isabel Brown (Tucson, Ariz./Tucson Magnet) and freshman Amanda Greco (Savoy, Ill./Champaign Central) assisted on Esrock's team-high 10th goal of the season.

Sorenson added her second score of the contest and seventh of 2009 less than eight minutes into the second half. It turned out to be the final score of the game.

Forester freshman goalkeeper Bri Schleibinger (Spring Grove, Ill./Richmond Burton) recorded seven saves for the first complete game shutout of her career.

Lake Forest out-shot the Vikings 18-11 in the contest.

The Foresters will continue league play at Carroll University Wednesday evening (September 30) at 5:00. The team's next home game will be next Saturday (October 3) against Knox College at 1:00 p.m.
