Lake Forest Edged Out by Visiting Carthage

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Forester women's soccer team was defeated 1-0 at home by Carthage College on Wednesday (September 23). Lake Forest is now 4-4-0 on the season while the Lady Reds raised their record to 4-5-0.

Carthage scored the only goal of the contest with 30 seconds remaining in the first half.

Forester freshman goalkeeper Bri Schleibinger (Spring Grove, Ill./Richmond Burton) recorded a season-high 10 saves in the game, including seven before halftime. She lowered her goals against average on the year to 1.49.

Lake Forest was out-shot 14-6 in the opening period but attempted nine shots in the second half, three more than the visitors. Carthage's goalie finished with six saves.

The Foresters will resume league play against visiting Lawrence University Sunday afternoon (September 27) at 1:00. A live video webcast of the game will be available at www.midwestconference.tv.
