Foresters Fall at St. Norbert College in Overtime
Green Knights score winning goal with 1:09 left in OT

De Pere, Wis. – The Lake Forest College women’s soccer team dropped a heartbreaking 2-1 overtime decision at St. Norbert College on Saturday (September 23). The Foresters fell to 4-2-0 overall and 2-1-0 in Midwest Conference play. The Green Knights were playing their league opener and raised their overall mark to 2-2-0.

After a scoreless first half, the home team got on the scoreboard at the 56:50 mark.

Lake Forest responded with sophomore Jaymie Honold’s (Kapolei, Hawaii/Kapolei) first goal of the season. She was assisted by junior Brittany MacLeod (Gorham, Maine/Gorham) at 70:20.

St. Norbert kicked in the game winner with just 1:09 remaining in the 10-minute overtime period.

Forester senior goalkeeper Kristyne Operzedek (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) recorded six saves in the contest.

Lake Forest will host a non-conference game against Carthage College at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday (September 27). The Foresters will resume league play on Saturday (September 30) at 1:00 p.m. at Lawrence University.
