Lake Forest, Ill. – Lake Forest College women’s soccer player Kristyne Operzedek (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) was chosen as the Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week on Monday (September 11) for recording a pair of shutouts in the previous seven days.

Operzedek, a senior goalkeeper, began the week with a nine-save performance in the Foresters’ 1-0 season-opening victory over Concordia University (Wis.) on Tuesday (September 5).

She made two more saves on Saturday (September 9) as Lake Forest started the MWC part of its schedule with a 4-0 blanking of Ripon College.

Operzedek now has 14 shutouts in her career and ranks among the all-time leaders in both school and conference history in that category.
