LAKE FOREST, IL - The Lake Forest College women’s soccer team defeated Carroll College 3-2 at home on Saturday (October 9). The Foresters are now 11-2-0 overall and a perfect 7-0-0 in Midwest Conference play. The loss was the Lady Pioneers’ first of the season and dropped their overall record to 9-1-1 and their MWC mark to 4-1-1.

After a scoreless opening half, Carroll notched the game’s first goal at 50:24 and added a second just 61 seconds later. It was only the second time this season that a team scored more than one goal against the Foresters.

After a few more scoring opportunities, junior Melissa Stevenson (Littleton, CO/Dakota Ridge) kicked in a pass from sophomore Allie Kabat (Hinsdale, IL/Hinsdale Township) to tie the score at 69:32. Stevenson’s heroics continued when she scored the game-winner with just 1:07 remaining on the clock. Junior Tanya Lopez (Albuquerque, NM/St. Pius X) earned the assist on Stevenson’s team-leading 10th goal of the season. Both players are tied for first on the squad with seven assists.
