Lake Forest Fall at #9 Wheaton to Close out Regular Season

Wheaton, Ill. – The Forester women’s soccer team closed out the regular season Friday (October 27) with a 7-1 loss at Wheaton College, the nation’s ninth-ranked team. Lake Forest fell to 8-8-0 on the year while the Thunder raised their record to 16-2-0.

The home team scored five times in the first half and added two more goals early in the second. Lake Forest got on the scoreboard in the 78th minute on sophomore Caty von Brecht’s (Cumberland, Maine/North Yarmouth Academy) first goal of the season. Twelve Foresters have now scored at least one goal this year.

Barring a number of strange occurrences in Midwest Conference play this weekend, Lake Forest will compete in next weekend’s (November 3-4) MWC Tournament, which will be hosted by the league champion.
