Foresters Fall to Nation’s 20th-Ranked Team
Operzedek records 200th career save

Kristyne Operzedek is just the third player in team history to amass 200 career saves.
LAKE FOREST, IL - The Lake Forest College women’s soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision at home to Loras College on Sunday (October 2). The Foresters fell to 5-2-1 on the year while the Duhawks, who entered the weekend as the 20th-ranked team in the nation, raised their record to 8-2-0.

The visitors struck early, scoring at the 9:43 and 11:06 marks of the contest. They added their third goal at 31:33 and led 3-0 at intermission. Lake Forest junior goalkeeper Kristyne Operzedek (Deerfield, IL/Deerfield) recorded seven saves in the half, including the 200th of her career. She currently ranks third in school history with 206.

After being out-shot 17-2 in the first half, the Foresters matched their guests’ four shots in the second. Loras scored the game’s final goal with 6:04 to play in the contest.

Lake Forest will play a pair of home games in the next week. The Foresters will host Benedictine University Wednesday (October 5) at 4:00 p.m. and Midwest Conference rival Grinnell College for Homecoming Saturday (October 8) morning at 10:00.
