Jessica Dare Named NCHA Player of the Week
Sophomore scored five times over the weekend

Jessica Dare
LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College women’s hockey player Jessica Dare (Whitmore Lake, Mich./Belle Tire) was named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Week on Thursday (November 5) for her performance in a sweep of St. Mary’s University at home last weekend (October 31-November 1).

Dare, a sophomore forward, scored five goals on the weekend, including three in Saturday’s season-opening 5-4 victory. It was the Foresters’ first-ever victory in a game they trailed 3-0. Dare’s second goal of the contest tied the score at three in the second period and her third tied it at four in the third. She also scored the first and third goals of Sunday’s 4-0 triumph.

Dare’s five goals on the weekend exceed the four she netted during the entire 2008-09 season. Her first score on Sunday was also the first official game-winning goal of her career.

Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Players of the Week are selected by the league’s sports information director.
