The 2009-10 season will be Tamlyn Tills' second at Lake Forest College and 15th as a collegiate head coach. The Foresters posted a 12-11 overall record and 9-7 mark in Midwest Conference play in 2008-09, Tills' first year with the program. Lake Forest remained in contention for a spot in the four-team MWC Championship Tournament until the final game of the regular season. Lisa Nassin was a First Team All-MWC selection and Claire Schmidt earned Second Team honors following the 2008-09 season. In addition, Schmidt, Paige Keasler, Aimee Lockwood, and Emily Weber were named Academic All-MWC. Several school records were established during Tills' first year at the College. Nassin set one single-game mark with a .938 (15-for-16) field goal percentage and Susan Hedrick broke another with eight three-pointers. The Foresters tied a record with 108 points in a game and their .621 field goal percentage that night set another mark. Finally, Nassin recorded the highest single-season field goal percentage (.603) and moved into first place in team history in that category for a career (.558). Tills was the head coach at Concordia University Chicago for the previous six seasons. She led the 2007-08 Cougars to the semifinals of the conference tournament and came within one win of the program’s record for victories in a season. Her 2003-04 squad was the first in school history to host a first-round game in the Northern Illinois-Iowa Conference Tournament and the 2005-06 squad made the program's first-ever appearance in the league's championship game. Prior to her time at Concordia Chicago, Tills was a head coach for three seasons (1999-2002) at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, and four (1992-96) at Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota. Tills' teams have posted a higher winning percentage than the previous season in nine of her 14 years as a collegiate head coach. Tills was also an NCAA Division I assistant coach at Marquette University from 1987-90 and at California State University-Fullerton from 1996-99. She also has experience at the professional level, having worked in the front office of the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks from 1987-90. Her coaching career began at Divine Savior Holy Angels High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she was the athletic director and volleyball and basketball coach from 1985-87. Tills was also a successful player, scoring more than 1,000 career points at both Milwaukee Lutheran High School and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. She was an All-American and part of the 1980-81 Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women national championship team at La Crosse and is a member of the school’s Hall of Fame.
