Shannon Clerkin Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Junior forward named All-Tournament at the prestigious McWilliams Classic 
  

Shannon Clerkin scored a career-high 31 points Saturday.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College basketball player Shannon Clerkin (Barneveld, WI/Barneveld) was named Forester Athlete of the Week after a three-game stretch in which she averaged 15.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals, leading her team to a 2-1 record. The 5-10 junior forward shot 53.1% from the field and 92.3% from the free throw line, and 14 of her 27 rebounds came on the offensive end.

The biggest game for Clerkin was Saturday's (November 29) 67-59 semifinal loss to Johns Hopkins University in the competitive McWilliams Classic at Washington University. She scored a career-high 31 points and hauled down 12 rebounds while going 11-for-20 from the field and 9-for-10 from the charity stripe. Another double-double Sunday - 11points and 10 rebounds - helped Lake Forest to a 68-55 victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in the third place game.    
 
The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
