Lake Forest Settles for Weekend Split after Loss at Monmouth
Foresters now 1-1 in Midwest Conference play

MONMOUTH, Ill. - A day after opening Midwest Conference play with a five-set victory at Illinois College the previous night, the Forester volleyball team fell 25-21, 27-25, 25-20 at Monmouth College on Saturday (September 26). Lake Forest is now 2-13 overall this season and 1-1 in league matches. Monmouth raised its overall record to 6-7 and joined the Foresters at 1-1 in the conference.

Lake Forest freshman Cori Cooper (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake Central) and junior Mandi Mulliner (Elmhurst, Ill./York) shared the team lead with seven kills apiece. Cooper also had two aces and Mulliner added three blocks. Freshman Megan Trubich (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield Central) had 15 digs and junior setter Deena Blanchard (Sparta, Mich./Sparta) finished with 23 assists, two aces, and 11 digs.

The Foresters will host Mount Mary College Tuesday night (September 29) and Elmhurst College on Thursday (October 1). Both non-conference matches will begin at 7:00 p.m.
