Foresters Fall at Nation’s 24th-Ranked Team
MWC Crossover I coming up this weekend

Kenosha, Wis. - The Lake Forest College volleyball team dropped a 30-23, 30-20, 30-24 decision at Carthage College, the 24th-ranked team in the nation, Monday (September 18) night. The Foresters fell to 5-9 on the season while the Lady Reds improved their record to 12-2.

Junior Nicole Baich (Westchester, Ill./Nazareth Academy) led the visitors with nine kills and a pair of blocks. Senior Kendra Casey (Wauwatosa, Wis./Wauwatosa West) tallied 25 assists in the contest and junior Merissa Martin (Vernon Hills, Ill./Vernon Hills) recorded a team-high 17 digs. Sophomore Lisa Sturgill (Sheboygan, Wis./Sheboygan South) and freshman Lindsey Grauman (St. Paul, Minn./Visitation) added 11 digs apiece.

Lake Forest will begin Midwest Conference play this weekend (September 23-24) at the Midwest Conference Crossover I at Grinnell College. The Foresters will take on Beloit College at 1:00 p.m. and Ripon College at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. They will also face Carroll College at 11:00 Sunday morning.
