Foresters Defeated Twice at Red & Black Triangular
Team falls to 4-7 on the season

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Lake Forest College volleyball team dropped a pair of three-game matches at home on Saturday (September 15) in the annual Red & Black Triangular. North Central College defeated the Foresters 30-15, 30-17, 30-19 in the morning to raise its record to 9-1 and Benedictine University, which defeated North Central at noon, also knocked off the home team 30-17, 30-21, 30-25 and is 12-1 on the year. Lake Forest fell to 4-7.

Senior Nicole Baich (Westchester, Ill./Nazareth Academy) led the Foresters with eight kills against North Central. Junior Ashleigh Martinez (Chula Vista, Calif./Hilltop) led the team’s two setter with 15 assists. Junior Lisa Sturgill (Sheboygan, Wis./Sheboygan South) recorded a team-high 18 digs and freshman Mandi Mulliner (Elmhurst, Ill./York) had three blocks.

Baich led the squad with eight kills again against Benedictine and she added five blocks. Freshman Deena Blanchard (Sparta, Mich./Sparta) had 20 assists in the match and Sturgill was the Foresters’ leader in digs again with a dozen.

Lake Forest will play at Carthage College Tuesday (September 18) night at 7:00. The Foresters will then wait eight days until their Midwest Conference opener at Carroll College on Wednesday, September 26.
