Lake Forest Defeats Wheaton, Falls to Carroll
Foresters 2-1 after split at Wheaton
  

Jenny Anderson had 37 kills on Tuesday, including 25 against Wheaton, a new career-high.
WHEATON, IL - The Foresters volleyball team split a pair of matches at Wheaton College on Tuesday (September 10). In the early match against Wheaton, the teams battled for five games until Lake Forest came away with the hard-fought victory (21-30, 30-19, 21-30, 35-33, 15-11). In the nightcap, a worn-out Forester team lost to Carroll College in three games (30-19, 30-28, 31-29).
 
Jenny Anderson (Sebastopol, CA/El Molino) was the go-to player against Wheaton, tallying a career-high 25 kills in 58 attempts with just four errors (.362 hitting pct.). Ten of the junior co-captain's kills came in game four with the team trailing two-games-to-one. She was also second on the squad with 16 digs.

Junior Jenna Harper (St. Louis, MO/Clayton) chipped in 13 kills as well as three aces and a pair of blocks in the match. Sophomore Andrea Krueger (Tinley Park, IL/Andrew) recorded 35 assists and also had a trio of aces. Junior co-captain Stephanie Metzger (Chicago, IL/Lane Tech) led the team with 17 digs.

In the match against Carroll, Anderson led the way again with a dozen kills, four aces, 11 digs, and a pair of blocks. Freshman Meghan Miller (Williams Bay, WI/Williams Bay) also reached double-figures in digs with 11.

The Foresters are now 2-1 on the season and will continue non-Midwest Conference play this weekend (September 13-14) at the Illinois Wesleyan University Classic. Friday's matches will be against Lakeland College (5:00 p.m.) and Illinois College (7:00 p.m.). On Saturday, the Foresters will take on Benedictine University (12:00 p.m.) and host Illinois Wesleyan (2:00 p.m.).
