Lake Forest Wins in Four Games at the University of Chicago
Megan Fasules finishes with career-high 10 kills

CHICAGO, Ill. - The Forester volleyball team won 30-18, 30-21, 22-30, 30-22 at the University of Chicago Thursday (October 18) night. Lake Forest raised its record on the season to 7-15 while the Maroons fell to 5-19.

The Foresters reached double figures in kills, led by senior Nicole Baich’s (Westchester, Ill./Nazareth Academy) 15. She did not commit an error in 29 attempts for a .517 hitting percentage. Junior Ashley Cretacci (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) was next on the squad with a dozen kills and sophomore Megan Fasules (Little Rock, Ark./Pulaski Academy) added a career-high 10. Junior Ashleigh Martinez (Chula Vista, Calif./Hilltop) recorded a team-high 27 assists and added four aces, tied with senior Merissa Martin (Vernon Hills, Ill./Vernon Hills) for team-high honors.

On the defensive side, junior Lisa Sturgill (Sheboygan, Wis./Sheboygan South) led the visitors with 33 digs and Martin chipped in with 12. Freshman Mandi Mulliner (Elmhurst, Ill./York) had a team-high four blocks, including three solos.

Lake Forest will resume Midwest Conference play Saturday (October 20) afternoon at 1:00 against visiting St. Norbert College.
