Swett and Rezac Post NCAA Qualifying Marks in Loss to UW-Whitewater
Bueter still perfect in nine races this season

LAKE FOREST, IL - The Lake Forest College swimming & diving teams hosted UW-Whitewater Wednesday (November 16) evening. The Warhawks defeated the Forester women 132-105 and posted a 149-90 victory over the home team’s men. Both Lake Forest teams fell to 3-2 on the year while Whitewater improved its record to 5-0 on the women’s side and 3-0 for the men.

Sophomore divers Kendal Swett (Akron, OH/Hawken) and Maggie Rezac (Omaha, NE/Marian) finished first and second, respectively, in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions with NCAA Championship Meet qualifying marks in both events. Swett’s scores were 263.90 off the low board and 291.00 from the high one. Rezac posted a 248.40 in the 1-meter competition and 259.00 in the 3-meter.

Junior Chelsea Bueter (Swisher, IA/Prairie) won each of her three individual events for the third time in as many meets this season. She touched the wall first in the 200-meter individual medley (2:33.01), 200-meter butterfly (2:35.95), and 200-meter breaststroke (2:48.30). Sophomore Mia Hable (Hudson, OH/Hudson) added a victory in the 800-meter freestyle with a time of 9:54.13

Sophomore Michael Ojdana (Cincinnati, OH/St. Xavier) placed first in both of his individual events and anchored the winning 400-meter medley relay team (4:16.25). He prevailed in the 200- and 400-meter freestyle with times of 2:03.89 and 4:24.22, respectively. Freshman Dustin Koch (Carmel, IN/Carmel) and juniors Derek Drayer (Albuquerque, NM/Eldorado) and Jon D’Angelo (Ann Arbor, MI/Ann Arbor) joined Ojdana swam the first three legs of the victorious relay. D’Angelo also won the 200-meter butterfly (2:26.38) and Koch finished first in the 200-meter backstroke (2:27.39). Senior Aaron Koop (Newton, KS/Newton) won the final individual event of the meet – the 200-meter breaststroke – with a time of 2:45.40.

The Foresters will travel to St. Louis this weekend (November 19-20) for the Washington University Thanksgiving Invitational. The competition will begin each morning at 10:00.
