Michael Ojdana Named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week
Senior helped lead team to Lawrence Invitational championship

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College swimmer Michael Ojdana (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier) was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday (January 29) for his performance at the Lawrence Invitational on Saturday (January 26).

Ojdana, a senior, began the meet by anchoring the 200-medley relay team, which posted a winning time of 1:43.93. He also touched the wall first in the first individual event of the day, the 200-freestyle, in 1:51.10. Ojdana’s next event was the 100-freestyle, which he finished with a first-place time of 49.65 seconds, nearly 1.5 seconds faster than the runner-up. His only non-winning performance of the day came in the 1000-freestyle, where he finished second in 10:30.13. He closed out the meet by anchoring the victorious 400-freestyle relay, which finished in 3:22.45.

Ojdana currently ranks first in the conference in 100-, 200-, and 500-freestyle.

Midwest Conference Performers of the Week are selected by the league’s sports information director. Ojdana also earned the award twice as a freshman and once as a sophomore.
