Foresters Open 2002 Season at Ripon Doubles Tournament 
Peoples and Bienia advance to semifinals

RIPON, WI - The Forester men's tennis team opened its 2001 season at the Ripon Invitational Doubles Tournament on Saturday (February 16th). Aside from Lake Forest and host Ripon College, UW-La Crosse and Beloit College also participated in the tourney.

Flight #1 was made up of each school's #1 and #2 teams. The Foresters' #1 team of Spencer Peoples (Scottsdale, AZ/New Mexico Military Institute) and Konrad Bienia (Lemont, IL/St. Lawrence Cathloic) knocked off the #2 team from Beloit (6-0, 6-3) but were eliminated in the semifinals by La Crosse's #1 pair.

Lake Forest had three teams participating in Flight #2. The #4 pairing of Nick Londy (Jackson Hole, WY/Berkshire Preparatory School) and Andrew Schuman (San Francisco, CA/Lawrence Academy) defeated Beloit's #3 team (6-2, 6-2) before falling to the #3 team from UW-La Crosse.

The Foresters will travel to UW-Whitewater Sunday (February 17th) to take on the Warhawks. It will be the team's only full match before the Spring Break trip to Orlando, Florida from March 9-16th.
