April 9, 2009 Contact: Mike Wajerski, SID Andrew Fretter Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Fretter, a senior, won all three of his contests at home on Saturday (April 4) as Lake Forest fell 5-4 to North Central College before blanking Rockford College 9-0. Fretter prevailed 8-4 at #2 doubles and 6-1, 7-5 at #3 singles against North Central in the morning. He moved up to the #2 spot in the singles lineup that afternoon and posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory. On Wednesday (April 8) the Foresters were defeated 8-1 at the University of Chicago, the 20th-ranked team in the country, and Fretter helped the visitors earn their only team point of the match with an 8-4 win and #2 doubles. He was defeated at #3 singles. Fretter is now 7-3 in singles and 7-1 in doubles this season. Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
