Lake Forest Wins Four Times over the Weekend, Raises Record to 13-3
Alex Presman and Joe Campagna each post perfect 8-0 records

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Forester men’s tennis team posted four convincing victories at home over the weekend (April 5-6), including one in Midwest Conference South Division play. Lake Forest began by defeating divisional foe Monmouth College 8-1 Saturday afternoon and added a 9-0 triumph over Carroll College that afternoon. The Foresters then blanked Rockford College 9-0 Sunday morning before routing Elmhurst College 8-1 later in the day. The team is now 13-3 overall and 2-1 in the MWC South.

The home team claimed two of three doubles matches against Monmouth. Junior Rocky Tektumanidze (Riverwoods, Ill./Deerfield) and sophomore Alex Presman (Deerfield, Ill/Deerfield) prevailed 8-4 at #1 and sophomore Joe Campagna (Elmwood Park, Ill./Fenwick) teamed up with freshman Chris Paterakos (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) on an 8-5 triumph at #3.

Tektumanidze was also victorious at the top spot in the singles lineup, defeating his opponent 6-3 in both sets. Presman played at #2 and won each of his sets 6-1. Freshman Jon Flaksman (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) registered a 6-2, 7-5 victory at #3 and junior Andrew Fretter (Bloomfield, Mich./Cranbrook Kingswood) triumphed 6-2, 6-3 at #4. Campagna bested Monmouth’s #5 player 6-1, 6-2 and Paterakos prevailed 6-1, 6-3 at #6.

The Foresters fielded the same lineup against Carroll. Tektumanidze and Presman won 8-4 at #1 doubles, Flaksman and Fretter 8-2 at #2, and Campagna and Paterakos 8-4 at #3.

Fretter and Paterakos did not surrender a game at #4 and #6 singles, respectively. Flaksman gave up one point in the second set at #3 and Campagna in the first at #5. Tektumanidze won 6-2, 6-0 at #1 and Presman posted a 6-1, 6-1 victory at #2.

Lake Forest changed up its lineup slightly against the five players from Rockford. Presman and Campagna played at #1 doubles and Fretter partnered with Paterakos at #2. Each team won 8-0.

Presman, Fretter, and Campagna did not lose a game at #1, #3, and #4 singles. Flaksman won 6-2, 6-0 at #2 and junior Ricky Galvez (Poolville, N.Y./Hamilton Central) triumphed 6-0, 6-3 at #5.

Tektumanidze was back in the lineup against Elmhurst and combined with Presman for an 8-6 victory at #1 doubles. Flaksman and Fretter won 8-2 at #2 and Campagna and Paterakos prevailed 8-1 at #3.

Presman and Campagna completed perfect 8-0 weekends with wins at #2 (6-1, 6-0) and #5 singles (6-1, 6-2), respectively. Flaksman came away with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at #3, Fretter won 6-3, 6-2 at #4, and Paterakos outscored his opponent 6-1, 6-0 at #6.

The Foresters will play at home against Beloit College Wednesday afternoon (April 9) at 4:00.
