Beloit Wins Close Match at Lake Forest, 4-3
Foresters win four of nine matches

LAKE FOREST, IL - The Lake Forest College men's tennis team hosted Beloit College Wednesday (April 17th) afternoon but fell to the Buccaneers in a close match, 4-3. The Foresters' record fell to 1-7 on the season with the loss, while Beloit's mark moved to 3-2.

Beloit took the doubles point by winning at both the number one and number two positions. At number three, Lake Forest juniors Dan Tobin (Lowell, MA/Lowell) and Nick Londy (Jackson Hole, WY/Berkshire Preparatory School) came away with an 8-1 victory.

In the singles competition, the Foresters dropped matches at each of the top three spots. At number four, senior Evan Hall (Norwich, VT/Loomis Chaffee School) recorded a 6-0, 6-0 victory. At number five, sophomore Luke Figora (Yorkville, IL/Yorkville) won 6-3, 6-4. Junior Andrew Schuman (San Francisco, CA/Lawrence Academy) also won at number six by a score of 6-1, 6-1.

The Foresters will travel to Carthage College on Saturday (April 20th) to take on the Redmen at 9:00 AM and the UW-Oshkosh Titans at 12:00 PM. On Tuesday (April 23rd), Lake Forest will play at Carroll College at 3:30 PM.
