Lake Forest Drops Home Opener to Augustana College
Kosmo Kwiatkowski scores Foresters' first goal of 2009

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Forester men's soccer team was defeated 3-1 by Augustana College in its home opener on Friday (September 4). Lake Forest is now 0-2-0 on the season while the Vikings evened their mark at 1-1-0.

The visitors took the early lead less than six minutes into the contest and neither team was able to score during the rest of the opening period.

Augustana doubled its advantage less than five minutes into the second half. The Foresters responded at 67:51 with their first goal of the season. Freshman Kosmo Kwiatkowski (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) kicked it in with sophomore Chris Haught-Thompson (Westchester, Ohio/Lakota East) earning the assist. The Vikings regained their two-goal lead less than four minutes later and held on for the victory.

Lake Forest will play at home again next Tuesday (September 8) against the University of Chicago. The contest will begin at 5:00 p.m.
