After a scoreless opening 45 minutes, Lawrence took the lead just 33 seconds into the second half. Lake Forest responded at the 58:42 mark with junior Attila Schmidt’s (Akron, Ohio/Western Reserve) team-leading seventh goal of the season. He was assisted by senior Walter Echeverry (Glenview, Ill./Maine East). The Vikings, however, regained the lead just 27 seconds later and extended it with insurance goals at 74:07 and 82:46. Lawrence was out-shot 17-11 but became the third consecutive team to defeat Lake Forest despite taking fewer shots. The Foresters will play a non-conference game at North Park University Tuesday (October 3) night at 7:00 and another at Dominican University Saturday (October 7) afternoon at 1:00.
