Foresters Unable to Complete Comeback against Lawrence

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Lake Forest College men’s soccer team fell to 3-6-0 overall on the season and 1-3-0 in Midwest Conference play after dropped a 3-2 decision at home to Lawrence University on Saturday (September 29). Lawrence raised its overall record to 4-5-1 and its league mark to 1-1-1.

The Foresters took the early lead on the first goal of junior Rob Palutsis’ (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest) Lake Forest career at 15:26. He was assisted by senior Attila Schmidt (Akron, Ohio/Western Reserve).

The Vikings tied the score at 19:33 and took the lead just over four minutes later. Lawrence added a third score at 35:56 and led 3-1 at intermission.

Palutsis scored again from Schmidt at 51:26 but the Foresters were unable to pull even.

Forester sophomore goalkeeper Tom Biesiada (Grayslake, Ill./Grayslake Central) came into the game at halftime and recorded four saves without surrendering a goal during the final 45 minutes of the contest.

Lake Forest will host Maranatha Baptist Bible College on Monday (October 1) at 4:30 p.m. The Foresters will not play again until Saturday, October 13, at home against Grinnell College.
