Tom Biesiada Named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week
Junior recorded first two shutouts of his career

Tom Biesiada
LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Lake Forest College men’s soccer player Tom Biesiada (Grayslake, Ill./Grayslake Central) was named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week Monday (September 21) for his performance in a pair of 1-0 victories during the previous week.

Biesiada, a junior goalkeeper, recorded the first shutout of his collegiate career at Concordia University Chicago on Wednesday (September 16). He made a save in each half and the Foresters scored with six minutes remaining to claim the 1-0 victory.

On Saturday (September 19) the team hosted and defeated St. Norbert College, ranked 21st in the nation by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. The home team scored less than 16 minutes into the contest and, thanks in large part to Biesiada’s career-high nine saves, the Foresters held on for the 1-0 triumph.

Biesiada is now 2-0-0 with a 0.40 goals against average and .917 save percentage this season.

Midwest Conference Performers of the Week are selected by the league’s sports information directors.
