Illinois College Knocks Off Foresters in Overtime, 2-1
First MWC loss of the year for Lake Forest

JACKSONVILLE, IL - The Lake Forest College men's soccer team played their second straight overtime game on Saturday (October 6th) but ended up on the wrong side of a 2-1 score at Illinois College on Saturday (October 6th). The loss drops the Foresters' overall record to 6-3-0 and their MWC mark to 4-1-0.

Illinois College scored the game's first goal just 10:47 into the contest. The teams played scoreless soccer the rest of the first half.

Lake Forest evened the score in the 70th minute when sophomore midfielder Steve Teisl (Chardon, OH/Gilmour Academy) found the back of the net for the fourth time this season.

The Blueboys put in the game-winner in the 14th minute of overtime to give the Foresters their first Midwest Conference loss of 2001.

Lake Forest will play again tomorrow (October 7th) at Monmouth College at 1:00 pm. The Foresters are 5-0-0 all-time against the Fighting Scots. The team's next home game will be next Saturday (October 13th) when they host UW-Whitewater.
