Lake Forest Falls 2-1 to Maranatha Baptist
Ben Levy scores Foresters’ lone goal

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Forester men’s soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to visiting Maranatha Baptist Bible College on Monday (October 1). Lake Forest fell to 3-7-0 on the season while the Crusaders raised their record to 4-7-0.

After a scoreless first half the home team took the lead on junior Ben Levy’s (Lincoln, Mass./Lincoln-Sudbury) second goal of the season exactly four minutes into the second period. He was assisted by junior Rob Palutsis (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest).

Maranatha Baptist tied the game at 53:38 and took the lead less than five minutes later.

Lake Forest attempted 25 shots in the game while surrendering just 11. Shots on goal were 10-7 in favor of the Foresters.

After a dozen days without a game, Lake Forest will resume Midwest Conference play on Saturday, October 13, against Grinnell College. The game will begin at 1:30 p.m.
