Athletic Department Staff Karen Hermann
Associate Athletic Director Karen Hermann joined the Lake Forest College Athletic Department in 1992 in an administrative role and earned multiple promotions, most recently to her current position of Associate Athletic Director in 2005. While most of her contributions to Forester Athletics happen "behind the scenes," their significance cannot be overstated. She has been extremely influential in nearly every departmental improvement since her arrival. Hermann currently oversees the department's budget, special events, and Forester Athletic Network (F.A.N. Club), and assists the Athletic Director in nearly every area. She is also responsible for office management and NCAA compliance and eligibility reporting. In addition, she has served as the department's action photographer since 2001 (view/order action shots). Hermann's mark on Forester Athletics has taken on numerous forms duriung her time at the College. She was instrumental in the creation of the F.A.N. Club, the College's athletic booster organization, as well as the Forester Athletics Hall of Fame and Tiernan Trophy Room. No major project or facility construction or enhancement has occurred in the department without her significant involvement. Under Hermann's direction, the College's Athletic Council has grown and continues to make significant contributions to the success of the Athletic Department. She has also served on numerous committees within the department and throughout campus, most notably the Homecoming Committee, on which she continues to be an influential member. Hermann has also been heavily involved with the production of numerous departmental publications over the years, including game programs, recruit brochures, pocket schedules, posters, and many others. Prior to her arrival at Lake Forest, Hermann completed two internships. In the first she served as Assistant Director of Competition for the Badger State Games (1990). The second was with the Chicago Bulls as the Assistant Director of the 1992 Shoot the Bull 3-on-3 Tournament. She was also on the the coaching staff at St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights from 1990 to 1994. She earned a BA in Sport Management from National-Louis University in 1990 and letered in basketball for the Lakers. |
