November 25th, 2000 Contact: Scott Rucker, SID Foresters Earn a Win and Tie With Marian
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College picked up a 6-5 win on Friday (November 24th) and a 3-3 tie on Saturday (November 25th) against Marian College (WI) in non-conference play. Lake Forest (5-2-2) remained undefeated (3-0-2) in non-conference play this season, while Marian (3-5-3) tied for the third time this year. After opening up a 4-0 lead on Friday in Fond du Lac, WI, the Foresters surrendered four goals in just over two minutes as Marian tied the score at 4-4 at the 3:13 mark of the third period. Lake Forest scored twice over a two-minute span midway through the third period to give them a 6-4 lead. Marian cut the lead to a goal at the 15:48 mark, but Lake Forest would hold on for the 6-5 win, their second straight. On Saturday, the Foresters jumped out to a 2-0 lead and took a 3-1 margin into the third period before surrendering two goals to Marian for the 3-3 final score. All three of Marian's goals came on the power play. Lake Forest will return to conference play on Saturday (December 2nd) when they travel to UW-Eau Claire. Friday's
